ROBERT WILSON, IN HIS WORDS, IS A CREATOR OF EVENTS AND HAPPENINGS, AND IN THE WORDS OF THE VANCOUVER SUN, NO ORDINARY SOUL MAN.
Robert Wilson is, most of all, a creator of events and happenings. The singer-songwriter has tramped around the world, performing on stages across North American, Europe, and Asia. It was, in fact, in Bangkok, when Wilson was 18, where one stew boiled that was something of a musical foundation. In a bootleg cassette tape market in the Thai capital, Wilson pulled together a haul of soul music, Al Green, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, and on his solo journey he packed around the musical trove for half a year.
In his musical journeys, he’s shared stages with Ani Difranco, Jason Mraz and Aimee Mann. He’s self-produced four records and the title of his most recent release is a buoying four words for these hyper crackling digital times: “Lovers One - Haters Zero.” Robert Wilson is, in the words of the Vancouver Sun, no ordinary soul man.
