"FUN, FUNNY, SAD, STRANGE, DIRECT, OBTUSE, INTIMATE & GRANDIOSE.” EIGHT WORDS TO ENCIRCLE THE NEW RECORD FROM JEREMY FISHER, THE LEMON SQUEEZE. IT FEELS, AND TASTES, GOOD.
Fun, funny, sad, strange, direct, obtuse, intimate & grandiose. Eight words are the circle songs on the new record from Jeremy Fisher. His sixth studio album entitled The Lemon Squeeze, was released in 2013. Jeremy is a singer-songwriter who wields timeless imagery and dresses it up with a consummate wit, a sweater of honesty, and a cap of lightheartedness. “One song,” Fisher has said, “is an ode to my mother, whom I’m told actually carried me everywhere she went for nine months without dropping me.”.
Fisher has two Juno nominations to his name and has put in the many thousands of miles on the road as all working musicians do – except Fisher is one of the few to motor large swaths of the distance on his bicycle. He has traversed this continent by pedal power three times, including a half-year journey from Seattle to Halifax in 2001 to promote his indie debut, Back Porch Spirituals.
